Lots of changes this month as we put the finishing touches on new websites and prepare for the upcoming release of Insatiable Consumption of Being from Tilton House Press.
October 2019 has been a full month of activities planned and unexpected. The first part of the month included college visits to Southern Methodist University and Texas A & M Univesity. Then on Sunday, October 20, 2019, my son and I were one of the first civilian responders to assist the Dallas Police Department immediately following the devastating tornado that hit North Dallas.
Since the tornado, Brandon and I have discussed the people we helped and just how close the tornado traveled to our neighborhood.
Another change this month was a shift in speaking topics and business focus. For the past six years, I have spoken about technology and entrepreneurship. I am ready for a change. Three times this year, I walked into an unknown situation, and each time, I had to trust my abilities to manage the challenges I encountered.
I believe walking into these challenges makes us stronger and brings to light hidden fears that need to be addressed. With this new insight, I developed a new speaking presentation and topic for 2020: How to Successfully Walk through the Unknown. The purpose of the topic is to motivate individuals while sharing advice on how to stand strong when encountering challenges that trigger our deepest fears.
As we prepare for 2020 at Dillon 5, we are focusing our energies on the Dillon 5’s portfolio of businesses, including our expanding family-owned landscaping company.
