The Road to Somewhere Else
In The Road to Somewhere Else, a collection of short stories, poems, and essays, Tiffany Sunday challenges the recognitions and attitudes towards, expected and unexpected real and philosophical destinations.
The collection continues the themes of longing, life regrets, and search for authentic self from Sunday’s book, Insatiable Consumption of Being. Sunday explores the themes in a series fleeting and energetic depictions of real and figurative roads and pathways, that must be confronted; anticipated or unexpected.
In Sister and Brother, the nuance of the story unfolds, subtly delivering an unexpected ending and forced decision. Sunday contemplates the ability to test decisions by offering two different endings for French Garden, and the regret of settling and silencing the soul in Seagull Café.
Sunday’s quest for authentic artistic life, captured in her essays: Dear Mystic, In Search of Silence, and Cape Cod, relevels the intricate coexistence of which roads and decisions to choose within the confines of society while protecting the creative soul. Sunday identifies societal roadblocks on the map to “somewhere else” and offers an alternative path. Within this abstract collection, Sunday’s brilliance is the ability to convey nuances and connect the subtle occurrences that are often unnoticed in modern society.
The book is available from Itasca Books.
Insatiable Consumption of Being – Second Edition
Tiffany Sunday’s first collection book is assortment of poems, musings and micro stories that form a universal mediation of philosophical questions of authenticity, humanity, and the preservation of the soul.
Themes of longing, toxic relationships, confinement, regret, and anticipation of freedom from the mundane, programmed expectations of society drive Sunday’s search for answers and a road to follow.
Sunday injects a futurist realism with a series of poems and micro stories: The Girl and Librarian, The Year 2030 and Artificial Intelligence in which she poignantly demonstrates the stripping away of humanity portrayed by a lowly sea bean. These themes are counterbalanced with an appreciation of nature. In this contemporary collection Sunday’s mediation and abstract approach reckons with the nuances and subtlety of humanity.
The book is available from Itasca Books.
To Be Human – Always – Second Edition
To Be Human – Always is a contrast to Tiffany Sunday’s first collection book with its darker, moody poems representative of the constant challenges of modern society.
Sunday’s abstract approach blends realism and metaphoric interpretation combined with the ever-present encroaching shadow of the digital invasion of humanity.
Themes of isolation, confinement, and preservation of self are counterbalanced with poems of appreciation for nature and human creativity. Sunday’s musings are continuation of exploration of society, self, and artistic expression.
The book is available from Itasca Books.
